    The Apotheca Arcanum


    The people of Araevis have long studied the arcane and mystical, seeking to understand powers that come from within and those that are summoned from the world around. The Arcanum amassed all such knowledge over the intervening centuries, seeking to create libraries of esoteric knowledge and spread the teaching to all who sought it. The Apotheca Arcanum is a repository of the most-studied spells, some of which are beyond all but a few exceptional casters -- and even a handful that exist only as theory until a capable mage comes along.

    For those wishing to add to the Apotheca Arcanum, please fill out the form below. Each contribution adds to the knowledge shared by all, bringing everyone closer to true understanding.


    Welcome to the Apotheca Arcanum! Similar to the Bestiary and the Terrarium it's far beyond the capabilities of Raph and myself (and even Hiren, who helped a lot) to flesh out all of these spells or fill out the spellbooks. So we're opening another opportunity up to all of you.

    For right now, I want to focus on spells which are already created, listed in the post following. Once those are ready to go, we can take submissions for new spells to fill in the blanks.

    What we have are costs and effects, but what we need are good descriptions, incantations, gestures, or rituals for each spell. Please keep in mind that a submitted description is subject to possible denial without given reason. This is intended for dumping ideas at this time, and while a more formal submission thread may exist in the future, the idea is to fill in as many blanks as possible with this. Below, is the form for submitting a spell. Please fill it out and submit it in this thread!

    Important things to know about Basic Spells, Advanced Spells, and Augmenting Spells:

    Basic Spells: Each tier of skill in each School has two Basic spells. A Basic spell does not require any Terra Regia to cast. It is cast only from Vigor. However, you have the option to Augment the spells with Terra Regia.

    Augmenting Spells: You can only augment Basic Spells. To do this, you use one unit of Terra Regia Pulveris. The minimum grade is equivalent to the tier of the spell being augmented: a Novice spell can be augmented with any Terra Regia, a Skilled spell can be augmented with Auritium or better, and a Grandmaster spell can only be augmented with Caelitium.

    Advanced Spells: An advanced spell requires 1 unit of Terra Regia Pulveris, equivalent to the tier of the spell, in order to cast. These spells have specific effects which are typically better than Basic Spells, but can't be augmented.

    Now, the submission form:

    School: The five schools are Castus (Healing), Occultus (Illusion), Bellator (Destruction), Serpens (Bindings and Poisons), and Aquila (Buffs and Barriers). Each may have 5 total spells for each tier of mastery, for a total of 25 spells in each school.

    Spell Name: This is the name of the spell. Try to keep these in English, but be creative.

    Cost: The cost, in Vigor, to cast the spell.

    Description: This is what the spell does, and in some cases, the history behind its creation or usage.

    Mechanics: This is what the spell does in game terms. (This is already filled in for existing spells)

    Rite: This is where the Incantation, Gestures, or other rituals are described. Not every spell requires a lengthy incantation, but every spell must have at least some kind of Rite, even if it's only a dramatic gesture.

    NOVICE

    Mend - Basic - 200 Vigor
    The user’s hands are bathed in a brilliant white light. Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier. Ineffective on major wounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 6 wounds.

    Incantation:

    Venom Scale - Basic - 250 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of a poison effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets that can be affected by one per grade, to a maximum of 6 targets.

    Incantation:

    Set Fracture - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    Sets bones from one fracture together and acts as an invisible splint for 30 minutes, usable on a target within 10m.

    ADEPT

    Soothing Current - Basic - 400 Vigor -
    Reduces the duration of one physical effect, such as muscle constriction, on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.

    Incantation:

    Calming Placebo - Basic - 500 Vigor -
    Reduces the duration of one mental effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.

    Incantation:

    Stasis Binding - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    Binds one wound on a target within 30m, preventing it from worsening for 3 rounds. Ineffective on major wounds.

    SKILLED

    High Mend - Basic - 1,500 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing two wounds by one tier each. Augmenting with Terra Regia allows the user to target an additional wound per grade, to a maximum of five wounds.

    Incantation:


    Sweet Breeze - Basic - 2,000 Vigor -
    Disperses gases and fogs surrounding the caster, creating a clear area 10m in radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5 meters per grade used, to a maximum of 25m.

    Incantation:

    Healing Wind - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    Heals all friendly targets within 20m, instantly reducing one wound by one tier for each target.

    MASTER

    Regeneration - Basic - 4,500 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier each round, for 3 rounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 3 wounds.

    Incantation:

    Placebo - Basic - 5,000 Vigor -
    Grants immunity to a target within 10m for 3 rounds on a similar effects to one which was removed by Venom Scale, Soothing Current, or Placebo. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of rounds of immunity by 1 per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Restoration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by three tiers.

    Incantation:


    GRANDMASTER

    Superior Mend - Basic - 15,000 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing three wounds by one tier. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris heals each wound by 1 additional tier.

    Incantation:

    Rejoin - Basic - 16,000 Vigor -
    Caster may rejoin a separated body part to the target. The body part will be unusable until fully healed, counting as a major wound. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will heal the arm fully, making it immediately functional.

    Incantation:

    Mercy of Castus - Advanced - 50,000 Vigor -
    Bring a dead target back to life, at a permanent loss of 10% of the target's total Vigor. Resurrected target starts at 10% of max Vigor. The target's body must be fully healed before resurrection can occur. If used on a target reanimated by the Call of Exanimum, the target does not receive an additional penalty to their total Vigor.

    SCHOOL OF OCCULTUS




    NOVICE

    Fog - Basic - 150 Vigor
    The user exhales a dense cloak of mist, creating a cloud of concealing fog that fills a 15m radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the mist by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 40m.

    Incantation:

    Familiar Stranger - Basic - 200 Vigor
    Those who observe the caster find them to be familiar, acting as if they’ve known their presence was always there. Lasts for 5 minutes or until the caster acts suspiciously. The addition of Terra Regia affords an additional 5 minutes of use per grade, to a maximum of 30 minutes.

    Incantation:

    Ghost Fire - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    Creates a colored flame that follows the caster. Those within the light become invisible to beings that don't see in normal light.

    Incantation:


    ADEPT

    Mirror Image - Basic - 400 Vigor -
    Creates a duplicate of the caster within 1m, which moves in unison with the caster but in opposite directions. The duplicate disappears if struck. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of duplicates by 1, to a maximum of 4 duplicates.

    Incantation:

    Incognito - Basic - 500 Vigor -
    Disguises the caster as a target they are familiar with. It cannot disguise their scent or voice, however. The spell persists for up to 10 minutes. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 30 minutes.

    Incantation:

    Decoy - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    Creates a persistent decoy of the caster or a target the caster is familiar with. The decoy does not move and will disappear if struck.

    SKILLED

    Break of Dusk - Basic - 1,500 Vigor -
    Creates an area of lightlessness in a 15m radius. If used to counter Sunrise, both spells end immediately. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the radius by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 30m.

    Incantation:

    Glass Veil - Basic - 1,500 Vigor -
    The caster or a living target within 1m are rendered invisible in the spectrum of normal light. Lasts 10 minutes, until the caster casts another spell, or until the target takes aggressive action. Items acquired after the spell is cast are not rendered invisible. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1 per grade, to a maximum of four targets.

    Incantation:

    Sunrise - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Searing light bursts from the caster's body, blinding all targets within 15m for its two round duration. If used to counter Break of Dusk, both spells end immediately.

    MASTER

    Flame Curtain - Basic - 3,500 Vigor -
    Visually similar to Conflagration, the caster releases a spark that explodes into violent flames. The flames fill an area 15m in radius and last 1 full round, but do no damage. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 3 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Doppelganger - Basic - 5,000 Vigor -
    Creates an autonomous clone of the caster, which lasts for 10 minutes or until struck. Possesses no discernible combat skill but relays information to the caster at the end of the spell. Augmenting with Terra Regia adds 1 more clone per grade, to a maximum of 3.

    Incantation:

    Mirror Curtain - Advanced - 5,500 Vigor -
    A 20m radius surrounding the caster becomes invisible to outside detection, though those within the curtain can still see normally.

    Incantation:


    GRANDMASTER

    Mirage - Basic - 14,000 Vigor -
    Creates a visual illusion that covers up to a 20m radius. The illusion is dispelled on contact. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds an auditory element to the illusion and allows it to persist for 10m, regardless of contact.

    Incantation:

    Displacement - Basic - 15,000 Vigor -
    Creates a visual distortion, causing the caster to appear to be 1m to the left or right of their actual position. Lasts 10 minutes. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will create a second displacement immediately if the first one is broken.

    Incantation:

    Abeyance of Occultus - Advanced - 18,000 Vigor -
    For the next 3 rounds, perception lags 3 seconds behind every action for everyone except the caster.

    SCHOOL OF BELLATOR




    NOVICE - 1 Tier of Damage

    Flame Burst - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spews flames up to 2m from the caster's hand. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the damage by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation:

    Energy Bolt - Basic - 150 Vigor
    A thin bolt of magical energy shoots up to 30m. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of bolts fired by one, to a maximum of 6 bolts.

    Incantation:

    Sickle Wind - Advanced - 200 Vigor -
    A cone attack of slicing air currents, 5m range, 3m spread.

    Incantation:

    Stone Summit - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A large stone erupts from the ground and launches toward a target within 20m.

    Incantation:

    Star Shriek Blast - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    An orb of blinding light that is thrown at a target within 15m. After exploding, the area remains bathed in light for 2 rounds.

    ADEPT - 2 Tiers of Damage

    Repulsor - Basic - 450 Vigor -
    A broad wave of force knocks all targets in front of the caster up to 10m from the caster. Augmenting with Terra Regia increase the distance repelled by 5m, to a maximum of 30m.

    Incantation:

    Lightning Orb - Basic - 500 Vigor -
    An orb of lightning is shot from the hand, traveling up to 30m. Upon hitting a target, it detonates in a 3m radius explosion. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the blast radius by 3m per grade, to a maximum of 15m.

    Incantation:

    Infurnus - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    A pillar of flame erupts from beneath a target within 20m, reaching 10m into the air.

    Incantation:

    Burst Stream - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    A tight whirlpool of water is shot forward, hitting all enemies in a 15m line.

    Incantation:

    Deadly Hail - Advanced - 750 Vigor -
    Creates a storm of jagged hail over a 6m radius area. Lasts 2 rounds.

    SKILLED - 3 Tiers of Damage

    Coiling Abyss - Basic - 1,400 Vigor -
    A portal of darkness opens in front of a target within 20m, and a demonic claw lashes out at them. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of portals opened, to a maximum of 4 portals.

    Incantation:

    Light Fang - Basic - 1,500 Vigor -
    A 1m diameter circle of green light forms in the air in front of the caster, emitting a barrage of bright lasers directly forward with a 20m range. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 50m.

    Incantation:

    Lightning Cannon - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    A beam of searing lightning is shot directly forward, hitting enemies in a line up to 20m ahead.

    MASTER - 4 Tiers of Damage

    Black Wind - Basic - 4,000 Vigor -
    A whirlwind of darkness bursts from the caster in all directions, throwing all enemies 15m away. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range thrown by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 25m.

    Incantation:

    Diamond Dust - Basic - 4,000 Vigor -
    A cone of frost that reaches up to 10m ahead, 5m spread. The frost overtakes objects in its way, flash freezing all targets stuck in its path. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the long range by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 20m.

    Incantation:

    Conflagration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    A small spark thrown by the caster up to 30m. On impact, the spark explodes in a 15m radius ball of flames.

    GRANDMASTER - 5 Tiers of Damage

    Comet - Basic - 14,000 Vigor -
    A massive comet is summoned overhead, slamming into a target within 50m and creating a 15m radius explosion. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the blast radius to 30m.

    Incantation:

    Hydra - Basic - 15,000 Vigor -
    Summons six hydra heads of green fire around a target within 20m, attacking repeatedly until the end of the turn. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the number of heads to 8.

    Incantation:

    Bellator’s Maelstorm - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor -
    Evokes a thunderstorm over a 100m radius area that lasts for 3 rounds. White bolts of lightning can strike anyone besides the caster.

    SCHOOL OF SERPENS




    NOVICE

    Halt - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spectral ropes spring up from the ground within 15m, binding the nearest limb for 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the binding by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Blur - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Blasts a cone of poison at a target within 10m. Obscures the target's vision for 1 round. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Shackles - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A single target within 15m has their wrists shackled together. Lasts 2 rounds..

    ADEPT

    Sealing Rings - Basic - 400 Vigor -
    Two rings encircle the target's upper body, locking their arms to their sides. Usable on a target within 10m, lasts 2 rounds. Terra Regia increases the range of this spell by 5 meters per grade, to a maximum of 30m.

    Incantation:

    Venom - Basic - 300 Vigor -
    Summons a spectral snake within 5m, which will lash out at the nearest target to inflicts a poison that slowly saps Vigor, sapping 150 Vigor per turn. Lasts 3 rounds. Including Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5m, to a maximum of 25m.

    Incantation:

    Slow - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    Showers a target within 15m with poison that slows their reaction time, reducing the effectiveness of physical attacks by one tier.

    SKILLED

    Adhesive - Basic - 1,200 Vigor -
    Launches a glob of goo at a target within 30m. Will bind any struck limb to the next object or surface touched for 2 round. Can be left on objects as a trap, as well. Duration of the binding is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Anesthesia - Basic - 1,400 Vigor -
    Coats the caster's hand in a poison which numbs the target to pain for 2 rounds; this is delivered to the first target on contact. The duration of the spell is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Binding Chains- Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Two chains are shot from the ground, walls, or ceiling surrounding a target up to 20m from the caster. The chains latch on to the target's wrists and then pull tight. Lasts 3 rounds.

    MASTER

    Prison of Light - Basic - 5,000 Vigor -
    Fires a spear of red light at a target within 20m. On contact, the user is bound by six thin shafts of the same red light around their midsection. Their limbs are free to move, but the target is locked in place for 3 rounds. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Conjunctivitis - Basic - 6,000 Vigor -
    Sprays a cone of sinister poison on targets within 15m that causes their eyes to bleed. The target is completely blind and in pain for 3 rounds, and inflicts this status on contact with another target. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the affliction by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Toxin - Advanced - 6,000 Vigor -
    Creates a cloud of toxin around the caster, afflicting targets within 1m with a powerful poison which rapidly saps 2000 Vigor per turn and lasts 4 rounds.

    GRANDMASTER

    Event Horizon - Basic - 14,000 Vigor -
    The caster creates a gravity sink within 30m. Along with binding the closest target's legs to its center, the gravity sink draws in all loose items within 20m. Lasts 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the duration by 2 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Displacement - Basic - 15,000 Vigor -
    Fires a dart of potent toxin at a target within 15m that disrupts their muscular control. Left, right, up, and down become flipped for the following 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will increase the duration by 2 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Coils of Serpens - Advanced - 18,000 Vigor -
    Coils of energy wrap around the target's entire body, constricting the entire body to the point of preventing speech. Usable on a target within 20m and lasts for one full round.

    SCHOOL OF AQUILA




    NOVICE

    Deflector - Basic - 100 Vigor
    A thin round shield is created in front of the caster, lasting one round. Reduces damage of attacks that strike the shield by 1 tier of damage and dissipates after blocking the damage. Terra Regia increases the amount of damage mitigated by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation:

    Night Vision - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Enables the user to see in low-light conditions, casting everything within 10m in a green glow. Lasts until canceled. Terra Regia increases the range of the night-vision by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 60m.

    Incantation:

    Aviate - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    The caster is able to glide a few inches above the ground, for 2 turns. This allows the user to cross surfaces like water that will not normally hold their weight.

    ADEPT

    Iron Bastion - Basic - 450 Vigor -
    The caster creates a persistent vertical barrier, roughly 2m high and 1m wide. Capable of blocking 2 tiers of damage from attacks that strike the shield. Terra Regia increases durability of barrier by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation:

    Breaking Palm - Basic - 450 Vigor -
    The caster's fist begins to gather energy. After one full round of charging, the Breaking Palm is ready to be used in combat or to damage structures. Lasts 2 turns after charging. Terra Regia increases the length of the spell by 1 tier per level Terra Regia, to a maximum of 6 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Telekinesis - Advanced - 550 Vigor -
    Enables the user to lift or manipulate items within 25m. Only as strong as the caster's own arm and lasts for two rounds.

    SKILLED

    Steel Pauldrons - Basic - 1,600 Vigor -
    Persistent, curved shields are created on both sides of the caster, anchored on the shoulders and reaching down to the ground. They move with the caster and last 3 rounds. They are capable of blocking up to 3 tiers of damage before their defensive capabilities are lost; however, their physical forms remains for the full duration. Terra Regia augments the durability of the pauldrons by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation:

    Coiled Leap - Basic - 1,500 Vigor -
    Enhances the caster's jumping ability, allowing them to leap twice as high or far for the next 2 rounds, gaining 1 round of effect per level of Terra Regia used, to a maximum of 5 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Anchor - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Anchor's the caster to a target within 5m. Temporarily resists being forcibly moved or knocked back. Lasts three rounds.

    MASTER

    Mirror Orb - Basic - 4,000 Vigor -
    Forms a crystalline barrier around the caster. Attacks which are unable to break the barrier completely are reflected back toward the attacker. Capable of blocking up to 4 tiers of damage before being shattered, however this can be augmented through Terra Regia, increasing the durability by 1 tier by level of Terra Regia, up to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation:

    Lightning Impulse - Basic - 4,000 Vigor -
    Heightens the user's reflexes for 2 rounds, and allows the caster to manipulate their limbs like a puppeteer if unable to use them normally. Terra Regia increases the duration by 1 round per tier, up to a maximum of 4 rounds.

    Incantation:

    Invigorate - Advanced - No Cost -
    Converts the visae of the Vitatium Pulveris into Vigor, instantly regenerating 4,000 Vigor for the user.

    GRANDMASTER

    Rejection Void - Basic - 13,000 Vigor -
    Creates a broad rectangular barrier. Can block up to 5 tiers of damage, gaining an additional durability through the inclusion of Terra Regia. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.

    Incantation:

    Army’s Force- Basic - 15,000 Vigor -
    The caster's next physical attack is dramatically amplified in damage. The next strike is increased by 3 tiers of damage. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.

    Incantation:

    Walls of Aquila - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor for full Palace - 4,000 Vigor per Wall
    A free-form barrier that can be assembled one wall at a time, with six total walls forming the full Palace. Each wall created increases the total magnitude of the array by two tiers.

    After thinking about it some and looking at the planes information, I think the way I did things was a bit boring. Every school was pretty much the same in terms of casting. I've decided to give them all different flavors that hopefully fit them better. While these are not exact spell writeups, I will be using these ideas to redo the spells I've already done.



    Castus


    The School of Castus gains their power by casting themselves upon the light and wisdom of the higher beings (not necessarily the Immaculate). As long as the user believes in something strongly, they will have the power. Typically a symbol or beloved keepsake is used to help power the spells, but advanced users can do so by will alone.

    They cast their magic by assuming special prayer positions. Casting Castus grants covers the user in a light and causes their eyes to glow white, making it risky to use during battle as they will stand out. It is possible to suppress the light for a weaker effect, but full belief and faith will grant the most power.

    Typical positions include hands clasped or pressed together in front of the chest. This can be done while kneeling or sitting, though this is mainly to reach the wounded better.

    Mend - Basic - 200 Vigor
    The user’s hands are bathed in a brilliant white light. Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier. Ineffective on major wounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 6 wounds.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a poor boy/girl has taken a tumble in the fields. I beseech you to sooth their troubles.

    Venom Scale - Basic - 250 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of a poison effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets that can be affected by one per grade, to a maximum of 6 targets.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a serpent slithered through my way. Guide it peacefully away from harm or harming others.

    Set Fracture - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    Sets bones from one fracture together and acts as an invisible splint for 30 minutes, usable on a target within 10m.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a shattered sign was leading travelers astray. It must be set right to help the lost.

    Adept
    Soothing Current - Basic - 400 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of one physical effect, such as muscle constriction, on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, a fool that works too hard yet continues to do so. May he find the strength and will to succeed in the face of failure.

    Calming Placebo - Basic - 500 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of one mental effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, tell the poor fool to hear my words, feel my breath, believe in the world as it should be. For a him/her, all shall right in the end.

    Stasis Binding - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    Binds one wound on a target within 30m, preventing it from worsening for 3 rounds. Ineffective on major wounds.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, I saw a fool lying on the side of the road, bleeding. Though it may happen again, may his wounds recover until his strength is beyond injury.

    Skilled
    High Mend - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing two wounds by one tier each. Augmenting with Terra Regia allows the user to target an additional wound per grade, to a maximum of five wounds.
    Prayer: O grand protector, let your light and grace fall upon the rascal, Else his/her weeping will flood the land.

    Sweet Breeze - Basic - 2,000 Vigor
    Disperses gases and fogs surrounding the caster, creating a clear area 10m in radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5 meters per grade used, to a maximum of 25m.
    Prayer: O grand protector, despite having nothing, a rascal will spend his last on poisonous smoke. Clear the air, so that he/she may make something of themselves.

    Healing Wind - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    Heals all friendly targets within 20m, instantly reducing one wound by one tier for each target.
    Prayer: O grand protector, I came across a house of rascals today. May your strength and light clean their debased home.

    Master
    Regeneration - Basic - 4,500 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier each round, for 3 rounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 3 wounds.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, a caitiff unworthy of your mercy has stumbled across my way. Though I do not enjoy his company, I ask you to grant him strength.

    Placebo - Basic - 5,000 Vigor
    Grants immunity to a target within 10m for 3 rounds on similar effects to one which was removed by Venom Scale, Soothing Current, or Placebo. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of rounds of immunity by 1 per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, it annoys me to say so, but a caitiff has fallen ill. It may be a waste of power to do so, grant him a bit of relief so that he/she may abscond anon.

    Restoration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by three tiers.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, if it were up to me, I would let the ungainly caitiff waste away on the road. Alas I must do my best to help him/her for reasons unbeknownst to me.


    Grandmaster
    Superior Mend - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing three wounds by one tier. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris heals each wound by 1 additional tier.
    Prayer: O divine lord, war and conflict tear through the land, leaving the despondent in the wake. One such wretch is before me now. Allow me to be their light.

    Rejoin - Basic - 16,000 Vigor
    Caster may rejoin a separated body part to the target. The body part will be unusable until fully healed, counting as a major wound. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will heal the arm fully, making it immediately functional.
    Prayer: O divine lord, though he may be a wretch of war, I desire to soothe his/her pains. Turn whole this once broken individual so that he/she may bright light to my world.

    Mercy of Castus - Advanced - 50,000 Vigor -
    Bring a dead target back to life, at a permanent loss of 10% of the target's total Vigor. Resurrected target starts at 10% of max Vigor. The target's body must be fully healed before resurrection can occur. If used on a target reanimated by the Call of Exanimum, the target does not receive an additional penalty to their total Vigor.
    Prayer: O divine lord, though the person lying in front of me may be a wretch, he/she is my dear. Grant him/her a second chance for I will watch over and guide them.




    Occultus


    The School of Occultus gains their power through drawing symbols. While an apprentice will draw on a solid surface with paint, the most practiced of users can magically generate the symbol in midair.

    It is normally only possible to flow magic through one limb at a time, so users cannot draw with both hands. The completeness and accuracy of the symbol will affect the power, so the caster must remain focused.

    The typical drawing motion appears a lot like finger painting in the air. The caster's hand drips something akin to black ink while they are drawing, though it disappears once the spell is complete.

    The user exhales a dense cloak of mist, creating a cloud of concealing fog that fills a 15m radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the mist by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 40m.

    Bellator


    The School of Bellator is the most violent of magics and often used in direct combat. Their spells are cast the most through brute force, requiring less in the ways of finesse or concentration.

    The caster literally rips magic out from a small portal and hurls it at the enemy. An uncontrolled portal will have less than spectacular results, but the magical portals can be honed to create specific results. Portals are created through charms and bracelets on the caster, though advanced users can just make them through sheer experience.

    Therefore, to cast destructive magic, one must mentally craft a small portal, then have the physical strength needed to rip the magic through. The casting isn't silent, either. While low-level portals will not make much sounds, the higher-level portals rumble or have shrill noises.

    Novice
    Flame Burst - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spews flames up to 2m from the caster's hand. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the damage by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a ring of metal that glows with heat. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal

    Energy Bolt - Basic - 150 Vigor
    A thin bolt of magical energy shoots up to 30m. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of bolts fired by one, to a maximum of 6 bolts.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of an equilateral triangle made of metal and pointing downwards. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal.

    Sickle Wind - Advanced - 200 Vigor -
    A cone attack of slicing air currents, 5m range, 3m spread.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of similar to an elongated diamond, except the elongated ends are split apart, forming fangs. It has the look of green marble. The magic is pulled out.

    Stone Summit - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A large stone erupts from the ground and launches toward a target within 20m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a jagged ring of stone. It must be made on the ground. The magic is called forth by kicking the part of the portal furthest to the target, causing it to jump up and launch the stone.

    Star Shriek Blast - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    An orb of blinding light that is thrown at a target within 15m. After exploding, the area remains bathed in light for 2 rounds.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of an irregularly shaped eight-pointed star. It has the look of white metal with lines of black running through it. The magic is pulled out.

    Adept
    Repulsor - Basic - 450 Vigor
    A broad wave of force knocks all targets in front of the caster up to 10m from the caster. Augmenting with Terra Regia increase the distance repelled by 5m, to a maximum of 30m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of two circles, partially overlapping. It looks to be made out of a material that has a smoky, constantly moving surface. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal with two hands, one per circle.

    Lightning Orb - Basic - 500 Vigor
    An orb of lightning is shot from the hand, traveling up to 30m. Upon hitting a target, it detonates in a 3m radius explosion. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the blast radius by 3m per grade, to a maximum of 15m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of two light bolts in a cross shape. It looks to be made out of metal, but sparks constantly run through it. The magic is pulled out.

    Infurnus - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    A pillar of flame erupts from beneath a target within 20m, reaching 10m into the air.
    Portal: A series of two portals are created, both on the ground. A small one appears by the caster while a large one appears under the target. They have the similar appearance of a ring that is on fire. When the caster triggers the small one, the large one activates. The magic is pulled out.

    Burst Stream - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    A tight whirlpool of water is shot forward, hitting all enemies in a 15m line.
    Portal: The portal has a fluid appearance, similar to a disc of water struggling to stay in shape. The magic is pulled out while having a twisting motion.

    Deadly Hail - Advanced - 750 Vigor -
    Creates a storm of jagged hail over a 6m radius area. Lasts 2 rounds.
    Portal: A series of two portals are created, one in front of the user and one in the air. They have the similar appearance of a snowflake, being made of ice. When the caster triggers the small one, the large one activates. The magic is pulled out

    Skilled
    Coiling Abyss - Basic - 1,400 Vigor
    A portal of darkness opens in front of a target within 20m, and a demonic claw lashes out at them. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of portals opened, to a maximum of 4 portals.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of swirling darkness with a frame of charred wood. They can be created all at once but must be triggered individually. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal. While the portals are open, they have the sound of noises echoing in a canyon.

    Light Fang - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    A 1m diameter circle of green light forms in the air in front of the caster, emitting a barrage of bright lasers directly forward with a 20m range. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 50m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a green disc. It has a frame of glowing green light. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal. While open, the portal has a shrill whistling sound.

    Lightning Cannon - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    A beam of searing lightning is shot directly forward, hitting enemies in a line up to 20m ahead.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a diamond with jagged sides. Its frame looks like yellow metal with streaks of black lightning running through it. The magic is pulled out. While open the portal has a rumbling sound, similar to thunder.

    Master
    Black Wind - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    A whirlwind of darkness bursts from the caster in all directions, throwing all enemies 15m away. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range thrown by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 25m.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of three equilateral triangles overlapping in one corner. The frame looks to be made of black stone that is chipped and cracked. While open, the portal produces a constant howling sound. The magic is unleashed by snapping the portal in two.

    Diamond Dust - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    A cone of frost that reaches up to 10m ahead, 5m spread. The frost overtakes objects in its way, flash freezing all targets stuck in its path. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the long range by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 20m.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of four large icicles arranged in a cross shape. The frame has the appearance of opaque ice. While the portal is open, there is the constant sound of ice grinding and cracking. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal with both hands.

    Conflagration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    A small spark thrown by the caster up to 30m. On impact, the spark explodes in a 15m radius ball of flames.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a small circle made of pure fire. While open, the sound of roaring flames can be heard. The magic is pulled out.

    Grandmaster
    Comet - Basic - 14,000 Vigor
    A massive comet is summoned overhead, slamming into a target within 50m and creating a 15m radius explosion. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the blast radius to 30m.
    Portal: A series of circular portals opens towards the sky, each one larger than the rest. The frame has the appearance of cracked stone with glowing lava seeping out from inside. While the portals are open, there is the sound of rumbling earth. The magic is pushed out, by striking the smallest portal. It will start a chain event until the largest portal launches out the comet downwards.

    Hydra - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Summons six hydra heads of green fire around a target within 20m, attacking repeatedly until the end of the turn. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the number of heads to 8.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of circle with six spikes growing along one-half of it. The frame looks like it's made of braided green wires. The portal only appears on a solid surface. While the portal is open, the sound of many snakes hissing can be heard. When the magic is pulled out, six lines burst forth from the six points of the portal. A hydra head emerges at the end of the line. Augmenting the spell increases the amount of points in the portal.

    Bellator’s Maelstorm - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor -
    Evokes a thunderstorm over a 100m radius area that lasts for 3 rounds. White bolts of lightning can strike anyone besides the caster.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a cloud. The frame looks like a material of darkness, with no light reflecting off it. The magic is activated by shattering the portal into a multitude of pieces. Hundreds of portals open in the sky, firing out the bolts of lightning.




    Serpens


    The School of Serpens gains their power by beseeching trickster sprites or elementals to debilitate enemies. The tricksters want some form of payment, though they value entertainment above all else. Therefore, casting spells require the user to perform a series of actions, something similar to a dance.

    Beginning users tend to wear small bracelets or anklets that cause sounds when used. It is thought that the tricksters appreciate the noise. More advanced users can cast spells silently, though, by having subtle flourishes of movement instead of noise. Advanced users also pause a flair partway and continue it within a few seconds.

    Others theorize that specific movements cut a small hole between dimensions, and the shape of the energy that flows out affects the behavior of the spell. Either way, there is some leeway with how perfectly the motions must be made. In addition, the motions can be mirrored depending on the person's handedness.


    Novice
    Halt - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spectral ropes spring up from the ground within 15m, binding the nearest limb for 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the binding by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Flair: The caster curls one arm in until the hand is touching the shoulder and then slowly unfurls it, ending with a flick of the wrist.

    Blur - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Blasts a cone of poison at a target within 10m. Obscures the target's vision for 1 round. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Flair: The caster waves a hand in front of their face, palm facing inwards, and then sweeps their arm outwards.

    Shackles - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A single target within 15m has their wrists shackled together. Lasts 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster twirls their hands around while keeping their wrists together. The spell activates after completing a circular motion with the arms.

    Adept
    Sealing Rings - Basic - 400 Vigor
    Two rings encircle the target's upper body, locking their arms to their sides. Usable on a target within 10m, lasts 2 rounds. Terra Regia increases the range of this spell by 5 meters per grade, to a maximum of 30m.
    Flair: The caster makes a circular motion in the air with both hands, parallel to the ground. One hand swirls from above, the other from below and in opposite directions. They do this twice while kneeling to the ground.

    Venom - Basic - 300 Vigor
    Summons a spectral snake within 5m, which will lash out at the nearest target to inflicts a poison that slowly saps Vigor, sapping 150 Vigor per turn. Lasts 3 rounds. Including Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5m, to a maximum of 25m.
    Flair: The caster starts slightly crouched with their legs crossed. Their hands are pressed together near the navel with fingers extended upwards. The caster oscillated their hands back and forth while extending them toward the sky. At the end, one arm is slashed downward, sending out the snake in that motion.

    Slow - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    Showers a target within 15m with poison that slows their reaction time, reducing the effectiveness of physical attacks by one tier.
    Flair: The caster extends their hands into the air. They sweep them forward while kneeling down, drawing a quarter circle all the way to the ground. The caster then throws their arms out to the side.

    Skilled
    Adhesive - Basic - 1,200 Vigor
    Launches a glob of goo at a target within 30m. Will bind any struck limb to the next object or surface touched for 2 round. Can be left on objects as a trap, as well. Duration of the binding is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster spins towards the ground, ending in a kneeling position. The caster then rakes their fingers along the around, followed up an uppercut motion. The goo is launched out during that motion.

    Anesthesia - Basic - 1,400 Vigor
    Coats the caster's hand in a poison which numbs the target to pain for 2 rounds; this is delivered to the first target on contact. The duration of the spell is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster claps their hands, once in the air, once to their left and once to the lower right. On the third clap, they rotate their hands until the fingers are pointing at the opposite hands' wrist.

    Binding Chains - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Two chains are shot from the ground, walls, or ceiling surrounding a target up to 20m from the caster. The chains latch on to the target's wrists and then pull tight. Lasts 3 rounds.
    Flair: The caster extends one arm in the air with the other on their hip. They step on the ground in rhythm while turning back and forth. They end in a jump and the chains erupt when the caster lands.

    Master

    Prison of Light - Basic - 5,000 Vigor
    Fires a spear of red light at a target within 20m. On contact, the user is bound by six thin shafts of the same red light around their midsection. Their limbs are free to move, but the target is locked in place for 3 rounds. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster extends their arms so they are pointed in opposite directions, starting with the left and right. With a clap, the user extends their arms in an opposite direction again, but rotated a bit counter-clockwise. They perform the same motion again but rotated clockwise. One final clap shoots out the spear.

    Conjunctivitis - Basic - 6,000 Vigor
    Sprays a cone of sinister poison on targets within 15m that causes their eyes to bleed. The target is completely blind and in pain for 3 rounds, and inflicts this status on contact with another target. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the affliction by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster raises one hand to the side of their face in a perpendicular orientation with all fingers extended. They draw a circle around their face while stomping with the opposite foot. After three complete rotations, they cup the hand around their mouth to spray the poison.

    Toxin - Advanced - 6,000 Vigor -
    Creates a cloud of toxin around the caster, afflicting targets within 1m with a powerful poison which rapidly saps 2000 Vigor per turn and lasts 4 rounds.
    Flair: The caster starts with their fingers hooked in front of their chest. They spin around, increasing in speed while slowly raising their hands towards the sky. They finish by kicking one leg out and letting it scrape along the ground, stopping the spin. The poison starts gathering as soon as the caster starts spinning.

    Grandmaster
    Event Horizon - Basic - 14,000 Vigor
    The caster creates a gravity sink within 30m. Along with binding the closest target's legs to its center, the gravity sink draws in all loose items within 20m. Lasts 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the duration by 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster places both arms at their side. They lean forward so far that any normal person would fall over, but they remain standing. The caster then straightens up, performs a quick spin that ends with their legs crossed and arms extended out and up with palms facing out.

    Displacement - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Fires a dart of potent toxin at a target within 15m that disrupts their muscular control. Left, right, up, and down become flipped for the following 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will increase the duration by 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster moves as if a ball of energy is passing through their body, causing their limbs to wave. It travels from the tip of the left hand down to the right leg, over to the left leg and then back up to the right hand where it is shot out.

    Coils of Serpens - Advanced - 18,000 Vigor -
    Coils of energy wrap around the target's entire body, constricting the entire body to the point of preventing speech. Usable on a target within 20m and lasts for one full round.
    Flair: The caster places one hand on their hips while pointing outwards with the other one. They wag their finger while sweeping it in an arc in front of them while stomping their feet on the same side. They bring both arms close to their chest, pumping it up and down. Then they sweep their arms out and upwards, finally extending forward with fingers overlapping but both palms visible.

    The School of Aquila gains their power by beseeching benevolent sprites or elementals to support their allies. They coax out aid with words of verse and rhyme. By speaking a short phrase, the benevolent will grant their power upon the caster and the caster's allies.

    Others theorize that speaking in certain tones and sounds cause a rift that causes magical powers to leak through. Manipulating the shape of the rift grants the different magical effects. In fact, advanced casters can hum a tune similar rhythm to the spoken words to obtain the effect of the spell.

    Aquila is the only school of magic that requires no tools right from the start.

    Novice
    Deflector - Basic - 100 Vigor
    A thin round shield is created in front of the caster, lasting one round. Reduces damage of attacks that strike the shield by 1 tier of damage and dissipates after blocking the damage. Terra Regia increases the amount of damage mitigated by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: In a faraway, forgotten land, a tall statue would forever stand.

    Night Vision - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Enables the user to see in low-light conditions, casting everything within 10m in a green glow. Lasts until canceled. Terra Regia increases the range of the night-vision by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 60m.
    Verse: A heavy pall bringing forth doom, the warmth of light shall remove the gloom.

    Aviate - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    The caster is able to glide a few inches above the ground, for 2 turns. This allows the user to cross surfaces like water that will not normally hold their weight.
    Verse: Gliding up high through the air, leave the world without a care.

    Adept
    Iron Bastion - Basic - 450 Vigor
    The caster creates a persistent vertical barrier, roughly 2m high and 1m wide. Capable of blocking 2 tiers of damage from attacks that strike the shield. Terra Regia increases durability of barrier by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: A lonely fortress. It keeps watch throughout the day. Crash and break on it.

    Breaking Palm - Basic - 450 Vigor
    The caster's fist begins to gather energy. After one full round of charging, the Breaking Palm is ready to be used in combat or to damage structures. Lasts 2 turns after charging. Terra Regia increases the length of the spell by 1 tier per level Terra Regia, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Verse: Feel the energy. All arriving together. It dances at night.

    Telekinesis - Advanced - 550 Vigor -
    Enables the user to lift or manipulate items within 25m. Only as strong as the caster's own arm and lasts for two rounds.
    Verse: Look at the great sky. It sparkles with a great force. Swirling all around.

    Skilled
    Steel Pauldrons - Basic - 1,600 Vigor
    Persistent, curved shields are created on both sides of the caster, anchored on the shoulders and reaching down to the ground. They move with the caster and last 3 rounds. They are capable of blocking up to 3 tiers of damage before their defensive capabilities are lost; however, their physical forms remains for the full duration. Terra Regia augments the durability of the pauldrons by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: Deep from the earth, metal is drawn, worked by fire, shaped and made strong. Built to withstand a hundred clashes even as the world turns to ashes.

    Coiled Leap - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    Enhances the caster's jumping ability, allowing them to leap twice as high or far for the next 2 rounds, gaining 1 round of effect per level of Terra Regia used, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Verse: Reaching up towards the grand sky, the realm of the birds up so high. I am drawn to it with a line. I will attain it, the sky is mine.

    Anchor - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Anchor's the caster to a target within 5m. Temporarily resists being forcibly moved or knocked back. Lasts three rounds.
    Verse: Forever it remains atop the hill yonder, a beacon of light for all to gaze in wonder. It is a mysterious thing with a lone crest. Forever it remains atop the hill at rest.

    Master
    Mirror Orb - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    Forms a crystalline barrier around the caster. Attacks which are unable to break the barrier completely are reflected back toward the attacker. Capable of blocking up to 4 tiers of damage before being shattered, however this can be augmented through Terra Regia, increasing the durability by 1 tier by level of Terra Regia, up to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: Standing within the glass halls so bright,
    Made glass and crystal the shimmering told.
    Gathering around me is the shining light,
    That grants me strength to be proud and bold.

    Lightning Impulse - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    Heightens the user's reflexes for 2 rounds, and allows the caster to manipulate their limbs like a puppeteer if unable to use them normally. Terra Regia increases the duration by 1 round per tier, up to a maximum of 4 rounds.
    Verse: Looking towards the horizon, I leave the old behind.
    I carry little, moving on with nothing of my own.
    To bring back all, searching for wonders of every kind.
    Waiting out there is the greatest land unknown.

    Invigorate - Advanced - No Cost -
    Converts the visae of the Vitatium Pulveris into Vigor, instantly regenerating 4,000 Vigor for the user.
    Verse: A longing for a path away from home,
    A longing to escape from the common and be free.
    Ever longing for new areas to roam,
    Even the skies and the sea aren't enough for me.

    Grandmaster
    Rejection Void - Basic - 13,000 Vigor
    Creates a broad rectangular barrier. Can block up to 5 tiers of damage, gaining an additional durability through the inclusion of Terra Regia. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.
    Verse: In a morning with mist-covered sky stands a lone maiden atop the tower high.
    Her gaze is focused on the world of yore when peace seemed it would last forever more.
    War came with swords and brigands of might, their symphony of swords rang through the night.
    And she refused to look upon the bloody reality, and the tower was sealed away for all eternity.

    Army’s Force - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    The caster's next physical attack is dramatically amplified in damage. The next strike is increased by 3 tiers of damage. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.
    Verse: A tower hides scores of gold for those that would seek it brave and bold.
    Ships sail out from all reaches of the world and heading towards the central target they swirled.
    Cut through every foes and make a path, the sounds of battle ring in a thunderous crash.
    Shatter the tower with its forbidding shield, the greatest sword to break through I shall wield.

    Walls of Aquila - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor for full Palace - 4,000 Vigor per Wall
    A free-form barrier that can be assembled one wall at a time, with six total walls forming the full Palace. Each wall created increases the total magnitude of the array by two tiers.
    Verse:
    1st Wall: Falling down basking in beams of light are several parapets of insurmountable height.
    2nd Wall: They grant sanctuary to all within, be safe from the world and silence the din.
    3rd Wall: To live through the night in a place of peace, a glowing light creates soothing warmth and heat.
    4th Wall: For home, for hope, for the people's song, the shield against the wicked shall hold strong.
    5th Wall: A never-ending light washes away the fear, take my words and send them far and near.
    6th Wall: All is welcome against the warring eidola. Step into the protective Walls of Aquila.

    The user’s hands are bathed in a brilliant white light. Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier. Ineffective on major wounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 6 wounds.

    Incantation: Renew the flesh which has been rent. Any further life force shall not be spent. Ars Castus: Mend. Fluere!

    Rite: The caster's hand must be held with fingers extended and pressed together over the target area.


    Venom Scale - Basic - 250 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of a poison effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets that can be affected by one per grade, to a maximum of 6 targets.

    Incantation: The deterioration and decay, evanesce and go away. Ars Castus: Venom Scale. Fluere!

    Rite: The user presses any two fingers against the place with the highest poison concentration.


    Set Fracture - Advanced - 250 Vigor
    Sets bones from one fracture together and acts as an invisible splint for 30 minutes, usable on a target within 10m.

    Incantation: A fragmented dream, shall be fixed at the seam. Ars Castus: Set Fracture. Fluere!

    Rite: The user gently hovers their hands over the affected area in a perpendicular pattern.




    Occultus


    Fog - Basic - 150 Vigor
    The user exhales a dense cloak of mist, creating a cloud of concealing fog that fills a 15m radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the mist by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 40m.

    Incantation: Hidden away in things betwixt. Are you certain that it exists? Ars Occultus: Fog. Celare!

    Rite: The user takes a deep breath. One hand is cupped over the mouth when the breath is blown out.


    Familiar Stranger - Basic - 200 Vigor
    Those who observe the caster find them to be familiar, acting as if they’ve known their presence was always there. Lasts for 5 minutes or until the caster acts suspiciously. The addition of Terra Regia affords an additional 5 minutes of use per grade, to a maximum of 30 minutes.

    Incantation: A grand morning and a good day, please listen to what I have to say. Ars Occultus: Familiar Stranger. Celare!

    Rite: The user swipes their hand across their face, as if snapping on a mask.


    Ghost Fire - Advanced - 250 Vigor
    Creates a colored flame that follows the caster. Those within the light become invisible to beings that don't see in normal light.

    Incantation: Trapped in the darkness of night, dance on, my little light. Ars Occultus: Ghost Fire. Celare!

    Rite: The user lowers their head for a brief moment and the Ghost Fire appears behind their shoulder.




    Bellator


    Flame Burst - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spews flames up to 2m from the caster's hand. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the damage by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation: A bright flame, wild and untamed. Ars Bellator: Flame Burst. Erumpere!

    Rite: The user aims by extending the index finger and middle finger on the casting hand.


    Energy Bolt - Basic - 150 Vigor
    A thin bolt of magical energy shoots up to 30m. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of bolts fired by one, to a maximum of 6 bolts.

    Incantation: Rip and streak through the sky, an unstoppable air is nigh. Ars Bellator: Energy Bolt. Erumpere!

    Rite: The user slashes their arm through the air with the motion angled downwards, sending out any number of bolts up to 6. The bolts will arc back towards one target if the user aims it such.


    Sickle Wind - Advanced - 200 Vigor
    A cone attack of slicing air currents, 5m range, 3m spread.

    Incantation: A gentle wind stirs the reeds, grows into a storm that reaves. Ars Bellator: Sickle Wind. Erumpere!

    Rite: The user slashes their arm upwards, sending the air out during that motion.


    Stone Summit - Advanced - 250 Vigor
    A large stone erupts from the ground and launches toward a target within 20m.

    Incantation: Every creature and kind, falls to the earth's grind. Ars Bellator: Stone Summit. Erumpere!

    Rite: The user extends his fingers towards the sky, with palm facing inwards. This causes the stone to rise. They then make a motion as if flicking something off the table in the direction of the target. This causes the stone to launch.


    Star Shriek Blast - Advanced - 250 Vigor
    An orb of blinding light that is thrown at a target within 15m. After exploding, the area remains bathed in light for 2 rounds.

    Incantation: Gaze upon all my splendor, in the land, no greater wonder. Ars Bellator: Star Shriek Blast. Erumpere!

    Rite: The user curls in their finger with the thumb pressing down on the fingernails. The orb gathers where the fingers meet. They then rapidly extend their fingers, shooting out the orb.




    Serpens


    Halt - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spectral ropes spring up from the ground within 15m, binding the nearest limb for 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the binding by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.

    Incantation: To struggle and resist. It comes to a desist. Ars Serpens: Halt. Vincire!

    Rite: The user opens their hand and then clenches it into a fist.


    Blur - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Blasts a cone of poison at a target within 10m. Obscures the target's vision for 1 round. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.

    Incantation: In the distance a shadow lurks, a dark figure prowls the murk. Ars Serpens: Blur. Vincire!

    Rite: The user holds their index and middle fingers in a V shape with the palm facing outwards and blows through it.


    Shackles - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A single target within 15m has their wrists shackled together. Lasts 2 rounds.

    Incantation: Contracting in with a rattle, restrict their skill to do battle. Ars Serpens: Shackles. Vincire!

    Rite: The user grabs their own wrist with both palms facing inwards.




    Aquila


    Deflector - Basic - 100 Vigor
    A thin round shield is created in front of the caster, lasting one round. Reduces damage of attacks that strike the shield by 1 tier of damage and dissipates after blocking the damage. Terra Regia increases the amount of damage mitigated by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.

    Incantation: Defend against all blows. Protect against all woes. Ars Aquila: Deflector. Volare!

    Rite: The user holds their hand with fingers extended and spread out. The shield is centered around the palm.


    Night Vision - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Enables the user to see in low-light conditions, casting everything within 10m in a green glow. Lasts until canceled. Terra Regia increases the range of the night-vision by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 60m.

    Incantation: A heavy pall casting doom, may sight remove the gloom. Ars Aquila: Night Vision. Volare!

    Rite: The user blinks twice in rapid succession.


    Aviate - Advanced - 250 Vigor

    Typical positions include hands clasped or pressed together in front of the chest. This can be done while kneeling or sitting, though this is mainly to reach the wounded better.
    Novice
    Mend - Basic - 200 Vigor
    The user’s hands are bathed in a brilliant white light. Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier. Ineffective on major wounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 6 wounds.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a poor boy/girl has taken a tumble in the fields. I beseech you to sooth their troubles.

    Venom Scale - Basic - 250 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of a poison effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets that can be affected by one per grade, to a maximum of 6 targets.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a serpent slithered through my way. Guide it peacefully away from harm or harming others.

    Set Fracture - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    Sets bones from one fracture together and acts as an invisible splint for 30 minutes, usable on a target within 10m.
    Prayer: O wondrous light, a shattered sign was leading travelers astray. It must be set right to help the lost.
    Adept
    Soothing Current - Basic - 400 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of one physical effect, such as muscle constriction, on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, a fool that works too hard yet continues to do so. May he find the strength and will to succeed in the face of failure.

    Calming Placebo - Basic - 500 Vigor
    Reduces the duration of one mental effect on a target within 20m by 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of targets by 1, to a maximum of 5 targets.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, tell the poor fool to hear my words, feel my breath, believe in the world as it should be. For a him/her, all shall right in the end.

    Stasis Binding - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    Binds one wound on a target within 30m, preventing it from worsening for 3 rounds. Ineffective on major wounds.
    Prayer: O kind watcher, I saw a fool lying on the side of the road, bleeding. Though it may happen again, may his wounds recover until his strength is beyond injury.
    Skilled
    High Mend - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing two wounds by one tier each. Augmenting with Terra Regia allows the user to target an additional wound per grade, to a maximum of five wounds.
    Prayer: O grand protector, let your light and grace fall upon the rascal, Else his/her weeping will flood the land.

    Sweet Breeze - Basic - 2,000 Vigor
    Disperses gases and fogs surrounding the caster, creating a clear area 10m in radius. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5 meters per grade used, to a maximum of 25m.
    Prayer: O grand protector, despite having nothing, a rascal will spend his last on poisonous smoke. Clear the air, so that he/she may make something of themselves.

    Healing Wind - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    Heals all friendly targets within 20m, instantly reducing one wound by one tier for each target.
    Prayer: O grand protector, I came across a house of rascals today. May your strength and light clean their debased home.
    Master
    Regeneration - Basic - 4,500 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by one tier each round, for 3 rounds. Augmenting with Terra Regia affects 1 additional wound per grade, to a maximum of 3 wounds.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, a caitiff unworthy of your mercy has stumbled across my way. Though I do not enjoy his company, I ask you to grant him strength.

    Placebo - Basic - 5,000 Vigor
    Grants immunity to a target within 10m for 3 rounds on similar effects to one which was removed by Venom Scale, Soothing Current, or Placebo. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of rounds of immunity by 1 per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, it annoys me to say so, but a caitiff has fallen ill. It may be a waste of power to do so, grant him a bit of relief so that he/she may abscond anon.

    Restoration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing one wound by three tiers.
    Prayer: O venerable spirit, if it were up to me, I would let the ungainly caitiff waste away on the road. Alas I must do my best to help him/her for reasons unbeknownst to me.

    Grandmaster
    Superior Mend - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Heals a target within 10m, reducing three wounds by one tier. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris heals each wound by 1 additional tier.
    Prayer: O divine lord, war and conflict tear through the land, leaving the despondent in the wake. One such wretch is before me now. Allow me to be their light.

    Rejoin - Basic - 16,000 Vigor
    Caster may rejoin a separated body part to the target. The body part will be unusable until fully healed, counting as a major wound. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will heal the arm fully, making it immediately functional.
    Prayer: O divine lord, though he may be a wretch of war, I desire to soothe his/her pains. Turn whole this once broken individual so that he/she may bright light to my world.

    Mercy of Castus - Advanced - 50,000 Vigor -
    Bring a dead target back to life, at a permanent loss of 10% of the target's total Vigor. Resurrected target starts at 10% of max Vigor. The target's body must be fully healed before resurrection can occur. If used on a target reanimated by the Call of Exanimum, the target does not receive an additional penalty to their total Vigor.
    Prayer: O divine lord, though the person lying in front of me may be a wretch, he/she is my dear. Grant him/her a second chance for I will watch over and guide them.




    Occultus


    The School of Occultus gains their power through drawing symbols. While an apprentice will draw on a solid surface with paint, the most practiced of users can magically generate the symbol in midair.

    It is normally only possible to flow magic through one limb at a time, so users cannot draw with both hands. The completeness and accuracy of the symbol will affect the power, so the caster must remain focused.

    The typical drawing motion appears a lot like finger painting in the air. The caster's hand drips something akin to black ink while they are drawing, though it disappears once the spell is complete.

    The School of Bellator is the most violent of magics and often used in direct combat. Their spells are cast the most through brute force, requiring less in the ways of finesse or concentration.

    The caster literally rips magic out from a small portal and hurls it at the enemy. An uncontrolled portal will have less than spectacular results, but the magical portals can be honed to create specific results. Portals are created through charms and bracelets on the caster, though advanced users can just make them through sheer experience.

    Therefore, to cast destructive magic, one must mentally craft a small portal, then have the physical strength needed to rip the magic through. The casting isn't silent, either. While low-level portals will not make much sounds, the higher-level portals rumble or have shrill noises.
    Novice
    Flame Burst - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spews flames up to 2m from the caster's hand. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the damage by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a ring of metal that glows with heat. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal

    Energy Bolt - Basic - 150 Vigor
    A thin bolt of magical energy shoots up to 30m. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of bolts fired by one, to a maximum of 6 bolts.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of an equilateral triangle made of metal and pointing downwards. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal.

    Sickle Wind - Advanced - 200 Vigor -
    A cone attack of slicing air currents, 5m range, 3m spread.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of similar to an elongated diamond, except the elongated ends are split apart, forming fangs. It has the look of green marble. The magic is pulled out.

    Stone Summit - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A large stone erupts from the ground and launches toward a target within 20m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a jagged ring of stone. It must be made on the ground. The magic is called forth by kicking the part of the portal furthest to the target, causing it to jump up and launch the stone.

    Star Shriek Blast - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    An orb of blinding light that is thrown at a target within 15m. After exploding, the area remains bathed in light for 2 rounds.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of an irregularly shaped eight-pointed star. It has the look of white metal with lines of black running through it. The magic is pulled out.
    Adept
    Repulsor - Basic - 450 Vigor
    A broad wave of force knocks all targets in front of the caster up to 10m from the caster. Augmenting with Terra Regia increase the distance repelled by 5m, to a maximum of 30m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of two circles, partially overlapping. It looks to be made out of a material that has a smoky, constantly moving surface. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal with two hands, one per circle.

    Lightning Orb - Basic - 500 Vigor
    An orb of lightning is shot from the hand, traveling up to 30m. Upon hitting a target, it detonates in a 3m radius explosion. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the blast radius by 3m per grade, to a maximum of 15m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of two light bolts in a cross shape. It looks to be made out of metal, but sparks constantly run through it. The magic is pulled out.

    Infurnus - Advanced - 500 Vigor -
    A pillar of flame erupts from beneath a target within 20m, reaching 10m into the air.
    Portal: A series of two portals are created, both on the ground. A small one appears by the caster while a large one appears under the target. They have the similar appearance of a ring that is on fire. When the caster triggers the small one, the large one activates. The magic is pulled out.

    Burst Stream - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    A tight whirlpool of water is shot forward, hitting all enemies in a 15m line.
    Portal: The portal has a fluid appearance, similar to a disc of water struggling to stay in shape. The magic is pulled out while having a twisting motion.

    Deadly Hail - Advanced - 750 Vigor -
    Creates a storm of jagged hail over a 6m radius area. Lasts 2 rounds.
    Portal: A series of two portals are created, one in front of the user and one in the air. They have the similar appearance of a snowflake, being made of ice. When the caster triggers the small one, the large one activates. The magic is pulled out
    Skilled
    Coiling Abyss - Basic - 1,400 Vigor
    A portal of darkness opens in front of a target within 20m, and a demonic claw lashes out at them. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the number of portals opened, to a maximum of 4 portals.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of swirling darkness with a frame of charred wood. They can be created all at once but must be triggered individually. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal. While the portals are open, they have the sound of noises echoing in a canyon.

    Light Fang - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    A 1m diameter circle of green light forms in the air in front of the caster, emitting a barrage of bright lasers directly forward with a 20m range. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 50m.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a green disc. It has a frame of glowing green light. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal. While open, the portal has a shrill whistling sound.

    Lightning Cannon - Advanced - 2,500 Vigor -
    A beam of searing lightning is shot directly forward, hitting enemies in a line up to 20m ahead.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a diamond with jagged sides. Its frame looks like yellow metal with streaks of black lightning running through it. The magic is pulled out. While open the portal has a rumbling sound, similar to thunder.
    Master
    Black Wind - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    A whirlwind of darkness bursts from the caster in all directions, throwing all enemies 15m away. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the range thrown by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 25m.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of three equilateral triangles overlapping in one corner. The frame looks to be made of black stone that is chipped and cracked. While open, the portal produces a constant howling sound. The magic is unleashed by snapping the portal in two.

    Diamond Dust - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    A cone of frost that reaches up to 10m ahead, 5m spread. The frost overtakes objects in its way, flash freezing all targets stuck in its path. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the long range by 5m per grade, to a maximum of 20m.
    Portal: The portal has the shape of four large icicles arranged in a cross shape. The frame has the appearance of opaque ice. While the portal is open, there is the constant sound of ice grinding and cracking. The magic is pushed out by striking the back of the portal with both hands.

    Conflagration - Advanced - 5,000 Vigor -
    A small spark thrown by the caster up to 30m. On impact, the spark explodes in a 15m radius ball of flames.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a small circle made of pure fire. While open, the sound of roaring flames can be heard. The magic is pulled out.
    Grandmaster
    Comet - Basic - 14,000 Vigor
    A massive comet is summoned overhead, slamming into a target within 50m and creating a 15m radius explosion. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the blast radius to 30m.
    Portal: A series of circular portals opens towards the sky, each one larger than the rest. The frame has the appearance of cracked stone with glowing lava seeping out from inside. While the portals are open, there is the sound of rumbling earth. The magic is pushed out, by striking the smallest portal. It will start a chain event until the largest portal launches out the comet downwards.

    Hydra - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Summons six hydra heads of green fire around a target within 20m, attacking repeatedly until the end of the turn. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the number of heads to 8.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of circle with six spikes growing along one-half of it. The frame looks like it's made of braided green wires. The portal only appears on a solid surface. While the portal is open, the sound of many snakes hissing can be heard. When the magic is pulled out, six lines burst forth from the six points of the portal. A hydra head emerges at the end of the line. Augmenting the spell increases the amount of points in the portal.

    Bellator’s Maelstorm - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor -
    Evokes a thunderstorm over a 100m radius area that lasts for 3 rounds. White bolts of lightning can strike anyone besides the caster.
    Portal: The portal has the appearance of a cloud. The frame looks like a material of darkness, with no light reflecting off it. The magic is activated by shattering the portal into a multitude of pieces. Hundreds of portals open in the sky, firing out the bolts of lightning.




    Serpens


    The School of Serpens gains their power by beseeching trickster sprites or elementals to debilitate enemies. The tricksters want some form of payment, though they value entertainment above all else. Therefore, casting spells require the user to perform a series of actions, something similar to a dance.

    Beginning users tend to wear small bracelets or anklets that cause sounds when used. It is thought that the tricksters appreciate the noise. More advanced users can cast spells silently, though, by having subtle flourishes of movement instead of noise. Advanced users also pause a flair partway and continue it within a few seconds.

    Others theorize that specific movements cut a small hole between dimensions, and the shape of the energy that flows out affects the behavior of the spell. Either way, there is some leeway with how perfectly the motions must be made. In addition, the motions can be mirrored depending on the person's handedness.

    Novice
    Halt - Basic - 100 Vigor
    Spectral ropes spring up from the ground within 15m, binding the nearest limb for 1 round. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the binding by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Flair: The caster curls one arm in until the hand is touching the shoulder and then slowly unfurls it, ending with a flick of the wrist.

    Blur - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Blasts a cone of poison at a target within 10m. Obscures the target's vision for 1 round. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Flair: The caster waves a hand in front of their face, palm facing inwards, and then sweeps their arm outwards.

    Shackles - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    A single target within 15m has their wrists shackled together. Lasts 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster twirls their hands around while keeping their wrists together. The spell activates after completing a circular motion with the arms.
    Adept
    Sealing Rings - Basic - 400 Vigor
    Two rings encircle the target's upper body, locking their arms to their sides. Usable on a target within 10m, lasts 2 rounds. Terra Regia increases the range of this spell by 5 meters per grade, to a maximum of 30m.
    Flair: The caster makes a circular motion in the air with both hands, parallel to the ground. One hand swirls from above, the other from below and in opposite directions. They do this twice while kneeling to the ground.

    Venom - Basic - 300 Vigor
    Summons a spectral snake within 5m, which will lash out at the nearest target to inflicts a poison that slowly saps Vigor, sapping 150 Vigor per turn. Lasts 3 rounds. Including Terra Regia increases the range of the spell by 5m, to a maximum of 25m.
    Flair: The caster starts slightly crouched with their legs crossed. Their hands are pressed together near the navel with fingers extended upwards. The caster oscillated their hands back and forth while extending them toward the sky. At the end, one arm is slashed downward, sending out the snake in that motion.

    Slow - Advanced - 600 Vigor -
    Showers a target within 15m with poison that slows their reaction time, reducing the effectiveness of physical attacks by one tier.
    Flair: The caster extends their hands into the air. They sweep them forward while kneeling down, drawing a quarter circle all the way to the ground. The caster then throws their arms out to the side.
    Skilled
    Adhesive - Basic - 1,200 Vigor
    Launches a glob of goo at a target within 30m. Will bind any struck limb to the next object or surface touched for 2 round. Can be left on objects as a trap, as well. Duration of the binding is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster spins towards the ground, ending in a kneeling position. The caster then rakes their fingers along the around, followed up an uppercut motion. The goo is launched out during that motion.

    Anesthesia - Basic - 1,400 Vigor
    Coats the caster's hand in a poison which numbs the target to pain for 2 rounds; this is delivered to the first target on contact. The duration of the spell is increased by 1 round per grade Terra Regia, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster claps their hands, once in the air, once to their left and once to the lower right. On the third clap, they rotate their hands until the fingers are pointing at the opposite hands' wrist.

    Binding Chains - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Two chains are shot from the ground, walls, or ceiling surrounding a target up to 20m from the caster. The chains latch on to the target's wrists and then pull tight. Lasts 3 rounds.
    Flair: The caster extends one arm in the air with the other on their hip. They step on the ground in rhythm while turning back and forth. They end in a jump and the chains erupt when the caster lands.
    Master

    Prison of Light - Basic - 5,000 Vigor
    Fires a spear of red light at a target within 20m. On contact, the user is bound by six thin shafts of the same red light around their midsection. Their limbs are free to move, but the target is locked in place for 3 rounds. Terra Regia increases the duration of the spell by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster extends their arms so they are pointed in opposite directions, starting with the left and right. With a clap, the user extends their arms in an opposite direction again, but rotated a bit counter-clockwise. They perform the same motion again but rotated clockwise. One final clap shoots out the spear.

    Conjunctivitis - Basic - 6,000 Vigor
    Sprays a cone of sinister poison on targets within 15m that causes their eyes to bleed. The target is completely blind and in pain for 3 rounds, and inflicts this status on contact with another target. Augmenting with Terra Regia increases the duration of the affliction by 1 round per grade, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Flair: The caster raises one hand to the side of their face in a perpendicular orientation with all fingers extended. They draw a circle around their face while stomping with the opposite foot. After three complete rotations, they cup the hand around their mouth to spray the poison.

    Toxin - Advanced - 6,000 Vigor -
    Creates a cloud of toxin around the caster, afflicting targets within 1m with a powerful poison which rapidly saps 2000 Vigor per turn and lasts 4 rounds.
    Flair: The caster starts with their fingers hooked in front of their chest. They spin around, increasing in speed while slowly raising their hands towards the sky. They finish by kicking one leg out and letting it scrape along the ground, stopping the spin. The poison starts gathering as soon as the caster starts spinning.
    Grandmaster
    Event Horizon - Basic - 14,000 Vigor
    The caster creates a gravity sink within 30m. Along with binding the closest target's legs to its center, the gravity sink draws in all loose items within 20m. Lasts 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris increases the duration by 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster places both arms at their side. They lean forward so far that any normal person would fall over, but they remain standing. The caster then straightens up, performs a quick spin that ends with their legs crossed and arms extended out and up with palms facing out.

    Displacement - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    Fires a dart of potent toxin at a target within 15m that disrupts their muscular control. Left, right, up, and down become flipped for the following 3 rounds. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris will increase the duration by 2 rounds.
    Flair: The caster moves as if a ball of energy is passing through their body, causing their limbs to wave. It travels from the tip of the left hand down to the right leg, over to the left leg and then back up to the right hand where it is shot out.

    Coils of Serpens - Advanced - 18,000 Vigor -
    Coils of energy wrap around the target's entire body, constricting the entire body to the point of preventing speech. Usable on a target within 20m and lasts for one full round.
    Flair: The caster places one hand on their hips while pointing outwards with the other one. They wag their finger while sweeping it in an arc in front of them while stomping their feet on the same side. They bring both arms close to their chest, pumping it up and down. Then they sweep their arms out and upwards, finally extending forward with fingers overlapping but both palms visible.




    Aquila


    The School of Aquila gains their power by beseeching benevolent sprites or elementals to support their allies. They coax out aid with words of verse and rhyme. By speaking a short phrase, the benevolent will grant their power upon the caster and the caster's allies.

    Others theorize that speaking in certain tones and sounds cause a rift that causes magical powers to leak through. Manipulating the shape of the rift grants the different magical effects. In fact, advanced casters can hum a tune similar rhythm to the spoken words to obtain the effect of the spell.

    Aquila is the only school of magic that requires no tools right from the start.
    Novice
    Deflector - Basic - 100 Vigor
    A thin round shield is created in front of the caster, lasting one round. Reduces damage of attacks that strike the shield by 1 tier of damage and dissipates after blocking the damage. Terra Regia increases the amount of damage mitigated by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: In a faraway, forgotten land, a tall statue would forever stand.

    Night Vision - Basic - 150 Vigor
    Enables the user to see in low-light conditions, casting everything within 10m in a green glow. Lasts until canceled. Terra Regia increases the range of the night-vision by 10m per grade, to a maximum of 60m.
    Verse: A heavy pall bringing forth doom, the warmth of light shall remove the gloom.

    Aviate - Advanced - 250 Vigor -
    The caster is able to glide a few inches above the ground, for 2 turns. This allows the user to cross surfaces like water that will not normally hold their weight.
    Verse: Gliding up high through the air, leave the world without a care.
    Adept
    Iron Bastion - Basic - 450 Vigor
    The caster creates a persistent vertical barrier, roughly 2m high and 1m wide. Capable of blocking 2 tiers of damage from attacks that strike the shield. Terra Regia increases durability of barrier by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: A lonely fortress. It keeps watch throughout the day. Crash and break on it.

    Breaking Palm - Basic - 450 Vigor
    The caster's fist begins to gather energy. After one full round of charging, the Breaking Palm is ready to be used in combat or to damage structures. Lasts 2 turns after charging. Terra Regia increases the length of the spell by 1 tier per level Terra Regia, to a maximum of 6 rounds.
    Verse: Feel the energy. All arriving together. It dances at night.

    Telekinesis - Advanced - 550 Vigor -
    Enables the user to lift or manipulate items within 25m. Only as strong as the caster's own arm and lasts for two rounds.
    Verse: Look at the great sky. It sparkles with a great force. Swirling all around.
    Skilled
    Steel Pauldrons - Basic - 1,600 Vigor
    Persistent, curved shields are created on both sides of the caster, anchored on the shoulders and reaching down to the ground. They move with the caster and last 3 rounds. They are capable of blocking up to 3 tiers of damage before their defensive capabilities are lost; however, their physical forms remains for the full duration. Terra Regia augments the durability of the pauldrons by 1 tier per grade, to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: Deep from the earth, metal is drawn, worked by fire, shaped and made strong. Built to withstand a hundred clashes even as the world turns to ashes.

    Coiled Leap - Basic - 1,500 Vigor
    Enhances the caster's jumping ability, allowing them to leap twice as high or far for the next 2 rounds, gaining 1 round of effect per level of Terra Regia used, to a maximum of 5 rounds.
    Verse: Reaching up towards the grand sky, the realm of the birds up so high. I am drawn to it with a line. I will attain it, the sky is mine.

    Anchor - Advanced - 1,500 Vigor -
    Anchor's the caster to a target within 5m. Temporarily resists being forcibly moved or knocked back. Lasts three rounds.
    Verse: Forever it remains atop the hill yonder, a beacon of light for all to gaze in wonder. It is a mysterious thing with a lone crest. Forever it remains atop the hill at rest.
    Master
    Mirror Orb - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    Forms a crystalline barrier around the caster. Attacks which are unable to break the barrier completely are reflected back toward the attacker. Capable of blocking up to 4 tiers of damage before being shattered, however this can be augmented through Terra Regia, increasing the durability by 1 tier by level of Terra Regia, up to a maximum of 6 tiers.
    Verse: Standing within the glass halls so bright,
    Made glass and crystal the shimmering told.
    Gathering around me is the shining light,
    That grants me strength to be proud and bold.

    Lightning Impulse - Basic - 4,000 Vigor
    Heightens the user's reflexes for 2 rounds, and allows the caster to manipulate their limbs like a puppeteer if unable to use them normally. Terra Regia increases the duration by 1 round per tier, up to a maximum of 4 rounds.
    Verse: Looking towards the horizon, I leave the old behind.
    I carry little, moving on with nothing of my own.
    To bring back all, searching for wonders of every kind.
    Waiting out there is the greatest land unknown.

    Invigorate - Advanced - No Cost -
    Converts the visae of the Vitatium Pulveris into Vigor, instantly regenerating 4,000 Vigor for the user.
    Verse: A longing for a path away from home,
    A longing to escape from the common and be free.
    Ever longing for new areas to roam,
    Even the skies and the sea aren't enough for me.
    Grandmaster
    Rejection Void - Basic - 13,000 Vigor
    Creates a broad rectangular barrier. Can block up to 5 tiers of damage, gaining an additional durability through the inclusion of Terra Regia. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.
    Verse: In a morning with mist-covered sky stands a lone maiden atop the tower high.
    Her gaze is focused on the world of yore when peace seemed it would last forever more.
    War came with swords and brigands of might, their symphony of swords rang through the night.
    And she refused to look upon the bloody reality, and the tower was sealed away for all eternity.

    Army’s Force - Basic - 15,000 Vigor
    The caster's next physical attack is dramatically amplified in damage. The next strike is increased by 3 tiers of damage. Augmenting with Caelitium Pulveris adds one additional tier of magnitude.
    Verse: A tower hides scores of gold for those that would seek it brave and bold.
    Ships sail out from all reaches of the world and heading towards the central target they swirled.
    Cut through every foes and make a path, the sounds of battle ring in a thunderous crash.
    Shatter the tower with its forbidding shield, the greatest sword to break through I shall wield.

    Walls of Aquila - Advanced - 20,000 Vigor for full Palace - 4,000 Vigor per Wall
    A free-form barrier that can be assembled one wall at a time, with six total walls forming the full Palace. Each wall created increases the total magnitude of the array by two tiers.
    Verse:
    1st Wall: Falling down basking in beams of light are several parapets of insurmountable height.
    2nd Wall: They grant sanctuary to all within, be safe from the world and silence the din.
    3rd Wall: To live through the night in a place of peace, a glowing light creates soothing warmth and heat.
    4th Wall: For home, for hope, for the people's song, the shield against the wicked shall hold strong.
    5th Wall: A never-ending light washes away the fear, take my words and send them far and near.
    6th Wall: All is welcome against the warring eidola. Step into the protective Walls of Aquila.

    Finny is hereby declared 'da bomb diggity yo' for his rework of the styles for each school and implementation of those styles.

    Some of these are silly, true, but I'm not opposed to silly (case in point: my previous sentence). Approving all of these as written.

    Prayer: O venerable spirit, faced before me are the lowly and unworthy. Their meaningless existence is an affront to the eyes of the kind. Let them see the light.
